4 Wheel Drive Adventures.......

4 Wheel Driving…..offers you the opportunity to explore the island at your leisure. Driving conditions vary with weather and tides. Speed limits apply both inland and on the beach. Normal road rules apply.

Indian Head is a rocky headland at the northern end of 75 mile beach. The climb to the top of the headland provides panoramic views of Fraser Island’s beaches and inland sand dunes. On clear days from this viewing point you can see whales (during whale season), manta rays, sharks, dolphins and turtles swimming below.

Champagne Pools are located just north of Indian Head, along 75 mile beach. These pools provide a very popular swimming hole with the ocean crashing over the rocks into shallow sandy pools. The foaming water is where the name Champagne Pools comes from.

Sandy Cape Lighthouse on the remote top of Fraser Island has self-conducted tours and is an important place for weather observations providing important data for Fraser meteorology. It is approx. 3 hours drive north from your accommodation - tide and conditions permitting - and can be a tough and long drive. Take extreme care.

The fishing season is about to start and all the experts are predicting a bumper season.

First time guests (converted campers) last year couldn't believe they were only 50 metres from the best gutter on the island. They almost broke our fish cleaning table under the weight of fish.

Repeat guests will notice that we have had a repaint and look a million dollars to match our view.
